Masters:

Nick Penstone Wins the Par 3 Challenge
In the month of April we had much excitement with our inaugural Masters Par 3 Challenge, where we setup the front nine to the exact length of Augusta’s Par 3 course.

Thank you to all who played and we look forward to making it an even greater success next year.

12 Year Old James Dons the Green Jacket

In the Masters we had one of our up and coming junior members, James Boustead walk away with the converted Green Jacket on the day he played with Willem, our Vice Captain and played his career best.

With James being a 12 year old member, there were members whom wanted clarity on the win and the M&T Committee evaluated the event and agreed that the win will stand and congratulated James on a great achievement.

Handicaps, Scores and Etiquette:
It has come to our attention that there are members who have been playing off incorrect handicaps as well as putting in incorrect scores on the system. We, as the handicap and M&T Committee are taking this very serious and we appeal to all members to make sure you are playing off the correct handicap and that you are putting them in correctly. We have started doing regular checks and to avoid any embarrassing situations please make sure it is correct.

As far as etiquette, there have been cases where members who have booked games have been left stranded with fellow members withdrawing without a courtesy call to their fellow members. We appeal to everyone... please, if you have to withdraw from a scheduled game please give your fellow member a call to make them aware of this as it has put the pro shop in unfortunate situations recently.

Hollow Tining:
Starting on Monday the 9th May, the course will be undergoing its hollow tining and as per previous years the course is closed for 5 days. We have however arranged a reciprocal green fee deal for members that week at surrounding courses:

In addition to the course, the club house will be closed from Monday the 9th to Friday 13th, with maintenance, repairs and cleaning taking place.

For golf bookings, the pro shop will be open from 08h00 – 17h00.

Leave:
I will personally be on two weeks leave from today and returning on Monday the 9th May.
